Description

The Phillips Lampworking Glasses – Camera Filter features our Sodium Flare Polycarbonate (SFP) lens with a universal clip that fits most smartphones and tablets. The clip on design makes the camera lens easy to use, and the detachable portable clamps with soft rubber, guard against the bumps and scratches on your phones. The design is perfectly suitable for taking photographs and videos of your lampworking projects.

This polycarbonate is very efficient in filtering sodium flare in addition to providing good ultraviolet protection.  It is very comfortable for viewing under high ambient light conditions such as when working with glowing heat sources for a duration of time. Also, although it has a relatively low luminous transmission of 38%, it is not recommended for glassworking where Infrared protection is needed.  This filter is more for soft glass usage.

Lampworking is a type of glasswork in which a torch or lamp is used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps.
